We're At The 2012 Progressive Insurance Chicago Boat, Sports & RV Show

The 2012 Progressive Insurance Chicago Boat, Sports & RV Show opened last night, just in time for Chicago's first real snow of the winter!

We can usually count on some winter weather when the boat show is underway and that's a nice reminder about why boating is so important to our Lake Michigan boaters. Boaters throughout our region are so enthusiastic about getting on the water that they look forward to spring in a special way. The boat show is just about the half-way mark between haul-out and spring launch, so it really gives boaters that first tingle of an approaching season -- snow or not!

The show has a lot to offer, in terms of boat selection and activities. Pose with the Geico Gekko or "Flo" from Progressive for a family shot. Drop in on Fred's Shed for some great boat maintenance advice. Visit the Welcome to the Water pavillion for helpful information from Discover Boating or take in the show at Rail Jam to see some wakeboard styling.

And be sure to visit Pier 33's Scout & Pursuit display. The boats look great and Bill Devitt, Mark White and Tighe Curran are on hand from Pier 33 to assist boat show visitors with all of their boating questions. We'll also be joined today and tomorrow by James Pate from Scout Boats, so this is your opportunity to meet with our factory expert.
